Discover Moments of Kalmfulness: Our New Virtual Gallery

Discover Moments of Kalmfulness: Our New Virtual Gallery

At Kalms, we understand how overwhelming life can feel sometimes. Recent research we conducted found that nearly half of UK adults (42%) struggle to find moments of calm amidst the chaos of daily life. Even more striking, four in five (79%) of us have experienced anxiety at least once this year, and 43% face financial worries on a weekly basis.[i]

Hearing this, we knew we had to do something. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce the Moments of Kalmfulness virtual gallery a special online space designed to bring a sense of peace to anyone who visits. This gallery is a celebration of calm through photography, created in collaboration with mental health ambassadors and talented photographers who share our passion for promoting emotional well-being.

Why Photography?

Our research revealed that 52% of people feel calmer and more relaxed after looking at peaceful imagery.i And it’s not just anecdotal – studies have shown that simply viewing pictures of nature can have a calming effect and help reduce stress. This could promote mindfulness.[ii],[iii]

We wanted to harness this power by curating a collection of images that can help transport you to a calmer place, even if only for a moment.

Behind the Lens

We’re thrilled to have worked with some incredible photographers who bring their own unique perspectives to the gallery. Each photographer’s unique perspective contributes to the gallery’s overarching theme of ‘kalmfulness’ – the state of being calm and peaceful – by showcasing the beauty that can be found in small, everyday moments.

The collection includes dramatic scenes of stormy seas, a quiet morning on the River Thames and the sunset at Brighton seafront, formerly named the most kalmful city in the UK.[iv]

What You’ll Find in the Gallery

The Moments of Kalmfulness virtual gallery is full of breathtaking photographs, each carefully selected to evoke a sense of peace and balance. Whether it’s the stillness of a woodland path, the gentle lapping of waves on the shore, or the warmth of a cosy corner at home, these images invite you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment.

We hope the gallery becomes a sanctuary for you – a place to escape the noise and find a little piece of calm, wherever you are.
